Hi Jitendra,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving some great feedback.
Glad, you are working on some cool loyalty marketing solution for the restaurants. I really believe they need the solution.

I think Reviews and Giving feature would be awesome for the restaurants to offer it to their customers.

Really excited to see how restaurants will respond to the service. Keep up the good work.

Nash,

Great piece
Punchh is indeed focussed packaging the value prop and delivering the ROI .

The last piece is pretty interesting to me. Restaurant marketing has been social for a long time. Just ask any restaurant owner and they will tell you that most of their customers already come from word of mouth (people referring and bringing their friends to a restaurant). With Punchh we are looking to operationalize the social aspect of restaurant business to deliver measurable ROI. Some of the elements of a social marketing solution are:
- Referrals - Referrals have to work naturally. Don't expect your customers to tell the phone numbers of all their friends. With Punchh we provide a natural way to engage and drive referrals that aligns restaurants objectives with their customers.
- Reviews - Food is social and people love to talk about it. So providing a way people can talk back with the restaurant and among themselves is crucial.
- Gifting - Engaging users by enabling them to gift their favorite food to each other.
- Giving - Aligning your restaurant with socially important goals like green movement etc. allows customers to express their support for these initiatives.

Really excited to see you write about these new approaches to restaurant marketing.

Thanks, Jitendra

Thanks Sandra for the comment.

You are right that social media is a great tool for viral marketing as word of mouth advertising can be on steroid if done properly.

However as you said, lot of fan pages can be neglected as the owners are very busy with the restaurant operation and they don't have much time. But they have a solution by outsourcing it to marketing agency at a very reasonable price. We can provide that solution for them.

Hi Sandra,

thanks for your comment on our blog.
Great point. Using Google Places can be very effective for local businesses and that includes restaurants too.
As you mentioned, it's even better if they can have citations and reviews.
Best of all it's free.
Look forward to exchanging more marketing ideas.

Hi Christopher,

Fist of all, thanks for your comment on our blog. Sorry for the delay. Yes, I agree with you that online ordering can be little tricky for small independent restaurants especially if they have never used it. It makes even harder to implement the online ordering if they don't get the concept well and if the initial set up is not properly done. Like making sure fax is properly connected, outlining the delivery range in certain miles radius.....

But if they can manage all that, I believe that it can be turned into another revenue stream that can add up to their bottom line.

Once again, thanks for your insights.

Social media is a great viral media for marketing a restaurant but it does require maintenance. I've see too many restaurant Facebook Business Pages left unattended, leaving the customer with a bad impression.
